In the year 2000, Mr. Technique's founder, Tom Nguyen, started taking Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lessons. His classmates made comments that he was a really strong guy. Everybody thought that he was a strong guy, but he lacked technique. So, Tom started joking around by telling people that he wasn't strong, he just had good technique.
From 2001-2002, Tom worked for Powerhouse Interactive, a website development firm which is no longer. During that year, he worked as a sales representative. Although he was a sales representative, he really enjoyed learning about website design. In his off time, one of the things he would do was learn about making websites.
In April of 2002, Tom was thinking about grappling and the name Mr. Technique just popped up in his head and he ran a check on the name MrTechnique.com. Luckily, the name was available. Tom purchased it and Mr. Technique was born. Kind of. Tom used it as his personal website. In the next couple of years, Tom worked for other employers, but he continued to learn more about website design and development through books and online tutorials.
In 2005, Tom decided once and for all, that he would pursue his passion for website design and development even if that meant working out his home. His list of satisfied clients started to grow which fueled his passion even more.
For the next couple of years, Tom continued to learn more about website development, so he could better service his clients. He knows that technology is always rapidly changing and website development is no excepetion.
Today, Mr. Technique is no longer a home-based business and has a location in historic downtown Grantville, Georigia.
