Google Places Listing

What is it? Your Google Places listing shows up above the organic search listings. No, it’s not the paid ads. It’s free, and you can even add images to it. Take a look at the image below:

My Personal Training Website's Google Places Listing and Organic Search Listing

I typed in the keywords “Personal Training Newnan GA” to come up with this page.  I do personal training on the side, and all of my leads come through search engine listings.  I’m pretty sure my Google Places listing is responsible for a lot of those leads.

If you want to see your Google Places listing, you can type in your company name followed by its city and state.  Your Google Places listing includes your business address and business phone number at the very least.  Even businesses without websites show up in this section.    You can even add your own photos and specials in your Google Places listing.

To edit your Google Places listing, click on the Place Page link, then click on the Edit this place link on the next page.  If you don’t have a Google Places listing, you can sign up for one here.
